Mixed Media Abstractions on Panel
An Indefinite Sense of Place
This series of work was begun while living in the Mid-Atlantic. Drawn from the idea of landscape and the architectural forms inhabiting it, the use of multi-stable elements is intended to underscore the shifting forms of what we often consider solid and permanent. Presenting us with clear edges and uncertain illusionistic volume, the mixed media works in An Indefinite Sense of Place utilize traditional painting techniques for depicting space in a way so as to deliberately subvert a single interpretation of the relationships within each composition.
